The Photography Department
at De Anza College offers exceptional instruction in beginning,
intermediate, advanced black & white and color photography,
commercial and digital imaging. Students develop the technical,
critical and practical skills required to succeed in a constantly
challenging and changing profession. The Photography Department
has one of the best-equipped and largest facilities in the Bay
Area. De Anza provides students with opportunities to apply new
skills to real and simulated situations found in photographic
careers.
De Anza College photo students
produce technically and aesthetically accomplished imagery. Students
have graduated to careers in advertising, photo illustration,
fashion, architecture, still life and product photography. Fine
art and documentary photography are integral parts of the program.
Associate of Arts degrees/Certificates
are offered in Professional Photography, Photographic Arts, and
Digital Photography. These programs produce photographers that
are highly employable team members in an expanding multimedia
work force.
The Photography Department
offers day, evening and Saturday classes. General Education (GE)
courses, which are transferable to all campuses, include 19th
C. Photography, Contemporary Trends in Photography, and Exploring
Visual Expression.
